Role Overview

A global engineering and intralogistics organisation is seeking a Managing Director for Germany to lead, grow, and elevate its regional business. This is a high‑impact leadership role for a commercially driven executive with a strong technical foundation in automation, materials handling, engineering, or manufacturing.

You will own the commercial strategy, operational performance, and cultural leadership of the German business. The remit includes strengthening customer relationships, driving profitable growth, expanding market presence, and ensuring operational excellence across all functions.

This role requires a leader who blends strategic vision with hands‑on commercial execution, capable of representing a global brand while scaling a high‑performing German organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the German business unit, owning full P&L, commercial performance, and strategic direction.

• Drive revenue growth across key sectors including intralogistics, automation, manufacturing, and industrial technology.

• Strengthen and expand relationships with major customers, integrators, and industry partners.

• Oversee sales, operations, engineering, and service teams to ensure high‑quality delivery and customer satisfaction.

• Shape and execute a Germany‑specific growth strategy, aligned with global objectives.

• Identify new market opportunities, partnerships, and strategic accounts.

• Ensure operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organisation.

• Build, mentor, and develop a high‑performing leadership team.

• Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and executive‑level customer engagements.

• Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and market intelligence to global leadership.

Essential Experience

• Senior leadership experience (MD, GM, Commercial Director, Country Manager) within: automation, materials handling, intralogistics, engineering, or manufacturing.

• Strong commercial background with a proven track record of delivering growth.

• Experience managing P&L, leading multi‑disciplinary teams, and scaling a business.

• Deep understanding of engineered solutions, industrial technology, or automation systems.

• Ability to operate in a global matrix environment while driving local execution.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging at C‑suite level.

• Fluent in German and English.
