A market‑leading automation and engineering business is seeking a Managing Director to lead its Netherlands organisation of 100+ people across engineering, projects, operations, and commercial functions. This is a pivotal role for a proven leader who can drive performance, scale capability, and strengthen culture while steering the business through its next phase of growth.
The ideal candidate blends deep engineering/automation understanding with exceptional people leadership, operational discipline, and commercial sharpness.
Key Responsibilities

Full P&L ownership for the Netherlands business unit

Lead, coach, and develop a 100+ person organisation across engineering, projects, operations, and support functions

Drive strategic growth, market positioning, and customer engagement

Ensure operational excellence across project delivery, engineering quality, safety, and service performance

Strengthen organisational culture, engagement, and leadership capability

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term planning

Build strong relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders

Collaborate with group leadership on cross‑border strategy, capability development, and technology roadmap

Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and scalable processes
Ideal Candidate Profile

Proven experience as Managing Director, General Manager, Country Manager, or Senior Operations/Engineering Leader

Background in automation, engineering, robotics, intralogistics, machinery, or industrial technology

Strong track record leading large, multidisciplinary teams (100+ people)

Deep understanding of engineering environments: project delivery, systems integration, manufacturing, or technical services

Commercially strong with experience driving revenue, margin, and operational performance

Exceptional people leader with a focus on culture, engagement, and talent development

Comfortable in a high‑growth, evolving environment with both strategic and hands‑on leadership responsibilities
