We are looking for a Senior Cost Controller to take ownership of project and product-level costing across a growing portfolio of robotics and automation projects.
This role will be responsible for BOM-level cost allocation, lifecycle cost modelling, and margin visibility, ensuring accurate, audit-ready data to support accounting, forecasting, and business decision-making.
You’ll work closely with Engineering, Project Management, and Customer-facing teams, acting as the single source of truth for project and product margins from initial purchase through to deployment and end-of-life.
Key Responsibilities
- Own monthly BOM-level cost allocation across projects and products
- Track and analyse actuals vs. budget, providing clear variance explanations
- Deliver monthly margin reporting packs with actionable insights
- Maintain lifecycle cost models linking CAPEX, OPEX, and recurring revenue
- Lead inventory and warehouse cost reviews with Engineering teams
- Support stock audits, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Define and maintain fixed asset policies (capitalisation, depreciation, asset classes)
- Oversee lease cost tracking and financial impact, ensuring alignment with commercial structures
- Partner with Project Management to review margins and cost completeness
- Provide accurate financial inputs for month-end close and reporting
- Support FP&A with clean, structured data for forecasting and scenario analysis
- Translate technical project data into clear financial insights
Key Requirements
- 5–8 years’ experience in cost accounting, project controlling, or manufacturing finance
- Background in engineering, automation, manufacturing, or hardware-led environments
- Strong experience with: BOM cost structures (multi-level), Project costing and margin tracking & Inventory and warehouse costing
- Solid understanding of: CAPEX vs OPEX, Fixed asset accounting & depreciation and Project accounting principles (WBS, cost-to-complete, margin tracking)
- Experience working with leases / equipment finance and their margin impact
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to manage large, complex datasets
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering and project delivery teams
- Fluent English; additional European language skills are beneficial
- Experience in a fast-paced, scaling environment with evolving systems
