Warehouse Solution Design Manager

About the Role
We’re searching for a Warehouse Solution Design Manager to lead the development of high‑performance intralogistics and automation solutions for major customers across Europe. You’ll own the full solution design process — from data analysis and concept creation to layout modelling, costing, and customer presentations — while guiding a team of engineers to deliver commercially winning, technically robust designs.
This role suits someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, commercial strategy, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the end‑to‑end design of automated warehouse and material‑handling solutions (AMRs, AS/RS, shuttles, conveyors, pallet systems, robotic picking).

Translate customer data, operational challenges, and growth forecasts into optimised system concepts.

Manage and mentor a team of solution design engineers, ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency.

Develop detailed layouts, simulations, throughput models, and performance calculations.

Partner closely with sales, project delivery, and software teams to shape winning proposals.

Present solutions to customers, senior stakeholders, and internal leadership.

Oversee cost modelling, risk assessment, and feasibility analysis.

Evaluate alternative technologies and drive innovation within the solution design function.

Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and performance standards across all designs.
Essential Experience

Strong background in warehouse automation, intralogistics engineering, or solution design.

Hands‑on capability with layout and modelling tools (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar).

Proven experience designing automated systems end‑to‑end.

Understanding of material flow, warehouse processes, and operational KPIs.

Ability to lead and develop a high‑performing technical team.

Comfortable working with commercial teams and presenting to customers.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data and build robust models.

Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
